Levin Cosmopolitan Club Entertainment and Events
The Club started in January 1900 when a group of local gentleman wanted to play darts in one of the local hotels and were not allowed to do so. This led to a Committee being formed and the Club being set up.
Originally known as the Horowhenua County Club and the first Club building was erected at the back of the then Levin Hotel. In 1916 until 1929 it became known as the Levin Workingmen’s Club, 1929 – 1939 as the Cosmopolitan Club and in the 50’s it became the Levin Cosmopolitan Club.
In 1970 the Club moved from premises in Oxford St (just south of the Bath St lights) to its present site further south in Oxford St where it has expanded to border Ward, Seddon & Rina St’s to serve a membership of some 1700 plus members.
